Latest News YorPower Generator for Harper Adams Chickens

One of YorPower's Directors has supplied a generator to his old university.

When Harper Adams University needed a new generator to supply power to its state of the art chicken incubation unit they turned to one of their old boys. Ben Whitmarsh, International Sales Director at YorPower, was able to supply a 250kVA YorPower generator, on time and within budget and the chickens are hatching nicely.

The chicken incubation unit at Harper Adams supports the work of the National Institute for Poultry Husbandry, a commercial and research facility, which is also used for teaching purposes.

The commercial egg production unit (of about 100 thousand laying hens) has five thousand birds in free-range systems and the rest in caged accommodation.

Environmentally controlled rooms (for lighting and temperature) and a partitioned caged-laying facility allow replicated comparative studies. Poultry behaviour and welfare assessments of egg production systems are also undertaken.

In the old 'chicken and egg' debate clearly YorPower came first!
